About Dr. Dag Gillberg

Dr. Dag Gillberg is an experimental particle physicist and a member of the ATLAS experiment at CERN’s Large Hadron Collider (LHC). His research explores the fundamental particles and forces of nature using high-energy particle collisions. His work includes Higgs-boson and electroweak physics, precision measurements of Standard Model processes, jet reconstruction and calibration, and the development of detectors for the High-Luminosity LHC and future particle-physics experiments.

A major focus of Dr. Gillberg’s current research is the development of machine-learning techniques for particle physics. His group is developing new approaches to high-dimensional and unbinned measurements that retain much more of the information recorded in particle collisions than traditional methods. He works with undergraduate and graduate students and postdoctoral researchers on projects spanning physics analysis, machine learning, scientific computing, particle reconstruction and detector development.
