We are proud to share that our student, Kimia Ghanaatpisheh, won first place in the Carleton University Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition 2026 for her presentation, “A Cosmic Flip-Flop.” Supervised by Professor Seyda Ipek, Kimia impressed the judges with a compelling and accessible explanation of her research, standing out among finalists from across disciplines. Her achievement highlights both the quality of her work and the strength of physics research in our department.
