Carleton's PhD program in Medical Physics has successfully renewed its CAMPEP accreditation effective through to 2029. Medical Physics involves the application of physics to medicine in one of four sub-specialties: diagnostic imaging, nuclear medicine, radiation therapy and radiation protection. For medical physicists working in a hospital setting, obtaining a degree from an accredited graduate program is a necessary first step in their career. CAMPEP (Commission on Accreditation of Medical Physics Education Programs) is an internationally recognized organization that reviews graduate programs to ensure that they meet their standards for high quality medical physics education.
