Contract Instructor Opportunities Fall 2026 and Winter 2027

The Department of Physics invites applications from members of the CUPE 4600-2 bargaining unit and other interested persons to teach Physics courses that will be offered during the Fall/Winter 2026/2027 term. The specific courses are listed below.

Candidates are required to hold a MSc. or higher degree in Physics, or related field, and demonstrate teaching competence in a relevant area, preferably at the university level. 

As per Article 15.3 of the current CUPE 4600 Unit 2 Collective Agreement, applicants are required to submit an up to date CV, including a complete listing of all courses taught within CUPE 4600 Unit 2 bargaining unit at Carleton University.

NOTE:  If you are an incumbent for a course, you are not required to (re)submit documentation beyond an updated CV.

All positions are subject to budgetary approval.

 Contract Instructor Salaries for Fall 2026 and Winter 2027 courses: 
•    Half Credit Course: $9,255 
•    Full Credit Course: $18,508

  • PHYS 1905V — Planetary Astronomy (online course with in person final exam)
  • PHYS 5207 — Radiobiology

 Winter Term 2027

  • BIT 1002 — Physics for Information Technology I
  • BIT 1007 — Physics for NET
  • PHYS 1004  — Introductory Electromagnetism and Wave Motion  (at least one session)
  • PHYS 2903V — Physics Towards the Future (online course with in person final exam)
  • PHYS 3606 / 3608 — Modern Physics II / Modern Applied Physics
