Samy El-Jaby, Ph.D.

I am a member of the Advanced Reactor Licensing Division (ARLD) at the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) where I am involved in the licensing of new nuclear power generating stations in Canada. I am also a member of International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) Task Group 122 on Update of Detriment Calculation of Cancer. My research in support of ICRP TG-122 focuses on modelling and quantifying radiation-induced excess risks of cancer and non-cancer diseases and applying those models towards improving radiation risk communication. Prior to this, my research focused largely on modelling and quantifying the space radiation environment in support of the Canadian Space Agency.
