Title: Applications of black hole scattering
In this talk, I will describe scattering in the presence of black holes. I will try to convince you that
- there is a new regime in the phase space of quantum gravity where scattering amplitudes can reliably be calculated in the low energy theory,
- Hawking's free field theory breaks down after Page time (implying information retrieval in local effective field theory), and that
- there is an emergent soft limit near the horizon, resulting in new soft graviton theorems in the presence of black holes.
Finally, I will conclude with some potential observational consequences.
