In this talk, I summarize features of a complete two-loop calulation of the electron EDM in the C2HDM, and demonstrate how a gauge independent result is achieved. I also constrast my result with an earlier calculation based on the pinch technique. I then discuss its behavior in the decoupling limit (heavy new particles), and make contact with a recent analysis based on EFT. This talk is based on https://arxiv.org/abs/2009.01258.
