Title: Higher order QCD corrections to top-quark pair production in the SM and Beyond

I will present theoretical results at approximate NNLO and approximate N3LO in QCD for top-quark pair-production total cross sections and top-quark differential distributions at the LHC in the SM and SMEFT. These approximate results are obtained by adding higher-order soft gluon correction to the complete NLO and NNLO calculations. The higher-order corrections are large, and they reduce the scale uncertainties. The SM results for t t~ production include the best current theoretical input and are in good agreement with recent data from the LHC. The SMEFT results show improved theoretical predictions and can be used to set stronger bounds on top-quark QCD anomalous couplings.
