Title: Beyond SMEFT with b-> c tau nubar transitions.

The Standard Model Effective Field Theory (SMEFT) is an EFT framework having field content the same as that of the Standard Model (SM). It can be used to parameterize the new physics effects in a model-independent manner.  However, SMEFT assumes the electroweak symmetry to be broken linearly by one Higgs doublet like in the SM. The latter assumption has certain implications on the low energy phenomenology. In this seminar, I will present a way to test this assumption using low energy probes involving b-> c tau nubar decays and discuss the ways to go beyond the SMEFT framework in general.
