The observation of neutrino oscillation implies that neutrinos have mass. The quest to understand the origin of the neutrino mass lies at the forefront of intensity, energy and cosmic frontiers. One key approach to probe the neutrino nature is fundamental symmetry tests in the lepton sector such as lepton number and charged-lepton flavor conservation. In this talk, I will discuss model-independent analyses of neutrinoless double beta decay depending on sterile neutrino mass. Then, I will also discuss the potential sensitivity of the Electron-Ion Collider to charged-lepton-flavor violating electron-tau transition.
