Given the current situation, where no new particle states have been found, we consider the possibility of such states leading to deviations in observables at energies that the LHC and foreseen colliders can prove. The SMEFT has been broadly casted as an useful framework to track such deviations. Under these conditions, for the deviations to be reliable, the high precision in the measurements requires high precision in the theoretical counterpart. It is for this reason that NLO computations should be taken into consideration when making predictions in the SMEFT. Recently, it was published the SMEFT@NLO package, an automation of one-loop computations in the standard-model effective field theory at dimension six. This seminar aims at presenting the SMEFT@NLO package and the subtleties appearing in the SMEFT at one loop.
