To continue operating through the ongoing pandemic, we are introducing Virtual Astronomy Nights! In these events, I'll be live-streaming views of bright solar-system objects, taken with my own equipment:
- Telescope: Sky-Watcher Esprit 100ED, a triplet refractor with f = 550mm, A = 100mm = f/5.5, sometimes with a 2x focal extender
- Mount: Sky-Watcher HEQ5, a German equatorial mount for tracking the sky along its natural axis of rotation
- Imaging: Celestron NexImage 5, a planetary imaging camera that records high-speed video to mitigate blur due to atmospheric effects
