Next week, the uOttawa Department of Physics is excited to be hosting two talks by Dr. William D. Phillips, winner of the 1997 Nobel Prize in Physics. We are very sad to report the death of M.K. Sundaresan, Sundar to his many friends, in Phoenix, AZ on Jan 30 2017. Sundar was born in Chennai (Madras) India on Sept. 2, 1929.  He started his career in theoretical physics as a Ph. D. student of Hans Bethe at Cornell. New stream starting Fall 2017:   B.Sc. Honours in Physics (Astrophysics).

While sharing the same core physics courses with the Theory and Experimental streams, Astrophysics stream also includes specialized courses in astronomy and astrophysics.

On October 13, 2016, a team of five Carleton undergraduate physics students represented Carleton University at the Canadian Undergraduate Physics Conference 2016 (CUPC-2016) at Dalhousie University (Halifax, NS). Three students, Austin de Ste. Croix, Matt Hemsley and Andrew Zwaniga, presented the research work they did in the past summer here at Carleton.
