You are invited to join our research-intensive Physics Department for graduate studies. We are engaged in world-class research in two complementary areas: Particle Physics and Medical Physics.
- Theoretical: Carleton University hosts one of the largest phenomenology groups in Canada.
- Experimental: Our comprehensive research program offers unique opportunities in both data analysis as well as instrumentation R&D at world-class facilities such as SNOLAB and CERN.
Our research program specializes in medical imaging and radiation therapy. Our PhD program is accredited by CAMPEP (Commission on the Accreditation of Medical Physics Educational Programs).
Carleton University also offers an MASc in Biomedical Engineering. This degree can be earned through the Physics Department. Applicants do not need an engineering degree or to have specialized in honours physics to be considered.
We ensure that all full-time Physics graduate students receive financial support from a combination of internal and external sources.
